Covid 19 and preventive dentistry

Many American adults are still worried about going to the dentist due to the chance of catching covid 19 while they visit their dentist.

At our office we have placed new policies to improve infection control and patient safety.

First and foremost we stride to have an "EMPTY" lobby. we reduce contact among patients by putting them in a private room with plenty of space between rooms.

We have every one fill a questionare regarding their general health and well being. Then we check their temprature to make sure everyone is safe and there are no signs of fever.

We have asked a few patients to remain in their cars if we can not ensure proper public distancing.

We dicourage walk in patients and ask everyone to call or email to make an appointment.

Before start of the treatment every patient is asked to rinse with an antiviral mouthwash that is proven to be effective in eleminating most bacteria and virus.

We have added two new air purification units that capture most of aerosal leaving patients mouth, before it can spread to other areas.

Ever staff member wears an N95 mask and a shield during procedures along with head cover and disposable gown.

This will be the new normal for a long time. However it is well documented that neglecting oral health will always increase the chance of infection and weaker response to other infections.
